Sunday 24 February – Ilkley Moor Fell Race
Report from Toby Fisher
Conditions were perfect for the 30th Ilkley Moor Fell Race. Warm and sunny with hardly any breeze; it actually felt quite hot descending into the sun trap of the Rocky Valley. It’s a tough hilly 8km route with some steep climbs, steep technical descents and hardly any flat sections. As usual there was great support out on the course. With 266 starters this year, the start was less frantic than 2018 when this was the Yorkshire Fell Championships race. The first man was Jack Cummings (Ilkley Harriers) in 38.36 and the first female was Katie Walshaw (Holmfirth Harriers) in 43.59. Otley had 5 finishers: Gary Johnson was 33rd in 45.18; Toby Fisher 54th in 48:03; Tony Walker 136th in 56.31; Neil Reed 168th in 59.36; and Antonio Cardinale 264th in 108.19.

Nice report Toby, well run all.
I agree with Tom L. about that it is a good report from Ilkley and everyone run well , especially Neal R. who did a super fell race finishing just under an hour . the weather conditions were just awesome .
