Sunday 31 March – Keighley Big 10k

Report from Matt

Whilst many members of the club were enjoying the beauty of the Lake District, Rob Fearnley and I were enjoying the beauty of Keighley, on this scenic tour. Through builders merchants, lorry parks, back alley’s and allotments, it’s not boring and it’s not flat. Highlights included seeing a turkey on one of the allotments, some out of date wraps in the goody bag and having to get up extra early due to the clocks changing.
Won by Craig Shearer in 33.42 and Jo Buckley in 41.40. I was 122 in 48.15, Rob was 217 in 51.55 and Richard Newell was 344 in 54.45. 839 lucky people enjoyed the tour of paradise.

  1. It’s not a boring 10k , it’s not a flat course , allotments on the route and out of date sweets , indeed it is an interesting big city race to do next year . Former boss Matt P. did a brilliant performance finishing in a solid 48.15 , and Rob F. too did well , he crossed the finish line in a splendid 51.55.
