Saturday 22nd June – Windy Gyle Fell Race

Belated report from Colin

This must be latest ever report but the results have only just been published and it was my wild card race!
The Windy Gyle fell race took place on Saturday 22nd June . It proved to be my last race for some time as I was injured after this and took until Burnsall fell race to compete again.
I like this race because of a number of reasons. Very low key, beautiful isolated location and very runnable terrain.
Andrew has won this race before and this year saw another Yorkshire winner from Pudsey.
1st Callum Hanson Pudsey 60.38
1st lady Dawn Metcalfe Durham fell runners 75.56
35th Colin Best Otley 97.15
51 finishers

  1. I think this Windy Gyle fell race is around 9 mile long , just looking at the winner time finishing at around an hour , so to cross the finish line in 97.15 is not a bad result at all , and although of the small field of people , Colin still left 16 runners behind him . Well done to Colin B.
