Virtual Fell Running Championships Race 2 Results

The second race in the virtual championship needed a distance of 8 miles with 1800ft ascent.

8 Otley runners completed the challenge in various locations such as Ilkley Moor, Simon’s Seat, Ingleborough and Great Whernside. The route had to include one ‘summit’ and limit the amount of road or good vehicle track so it felt like a proper fell race.

Winner: James Appleton of Keswick AC in 52.26

1st Lady: Nichola Jackson Keswick in 1.01.05

  1. 8 miles with 1800ft of ascent , it means that it is a hard fell race , like Simon’s Seat , Ingleborough Mountain Fell Race and Great Whernside , I have done them last year and they are really tough going up to the summit . Well done to all the club members who took part in these challenging hills races especially Stephen B. who did a splendid 1.16 , a great performance indeed , Stephen is in good shape at the moment . Also Danielle T. did really well climbing the rough hill and crossing the finish line in a good 1.40 . Fell runner Andrew R. had the fastest time of all finishing in a brilliant 1.14 .
