Sunday 7th October 2012 – Cusworth 10k

Chris Wordsworth reports: On a crisp and sunny morning, Liz Ashton and I assembled with 397 others for the start of the Cusworth 10k, in the grounds of the imposing Cusworth Hall, near Doncaster. The route ran on rural roads and began with a number of gentle undulations before flattening out, though with a cruel hill in the final mile. I finished in 273rd place in a recorded time of 54.36 (54.18 by my watch) and Liz finished in 292nd…

Wednesday 6th February – Graham Stead reports from the Pyrenees

Wednesday 6th February – Graham Stead reports from the Pyrenees

After several months out here I have just managed to overcome a re-occurring calf injury so I can at last report on a couple of events. Firstly on 12th Feb I took part in the Trail de St Valentines, in Odos. A great local event where you can run individually over 27k, as a mixed pair over 15k or as a mixed pair speed walking over 10k. Still getting over my injuries we opted to have a go at the…

Sunday 19th February – RaceKit Mini Mountain Marathon

Sarah Fuller reports: 151 runners enjoyed an absolutely beautiful morning in Calver, in the Peak District, for the third and last in the winter series of mini mountain marathons. I had an average run (can I still use the Rombalds as an excuse for being tired? No – oh ok!), and misjudged my route to finish too early, not making the most of the three hour time limit. Still it was awesome running, perhaps with a bit too much Tarmac…

Sunday 12th February – Liversedge Half Marathon

Tom Potter and Tom Midgley travelled over to Liversedge for the annual half-marathon on Sunday. Tom Potter reports: “A rather hilly course for a road race, much of the course is similar to that of the Spen 20m race. “I had a target time of approximately 1:38, this time was based on the 1:34 that I got at the Brass Monkey half-marathon three weeks ago. “Really enjoyed the race and was absolutely delighted to smash my PB by 50 seconds finishing…
